Seat14A privacy policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy says what the Seat14A app does with your data. It is also published at seat14a.com/privacy.
Your position
- Seat14A reads your device's position only while the app is in use, never in the background.
- Your position is used on this device only, to draw the dot and the Track arrow on the map.
- Your position is not stored, does not outlive the session and is never sent anywhere.
- If you decline location access, the map is still fully usable.
- Your phone's operating system works out the position, using Apple's or Google's location services. Those services are governed by their own terms, not by Seat14A.
Stored on your device
- Seat14A stores three settings on your device: your Layer choices, the Origin and Destination Aerodromes of your Flight, and whether you have acknowledged the first-launch notice. Seat14A never sends them anywhere.
- These settings may be included in your phone's own backups, such as Android Auto Backup, iCloud or a device backup. Those backups fall under Apple's or Google's terms.
- The app also copies its own bundled map files into its storage on your device. These files hold no personal data.
Nothing collected or shared
- Seat14A has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- There is no server the app reports to. Seat14A sends nothing from your device.
- Seat14A does not share or sell any data.
Changes to this policy
If the app's handling of data changes, this policy is updated, along with its date.
